Here’s a story that bears witness to Louis Van Gaal’s pulling power, Manchester United fans. German newspaper Bild today leads with the news that Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller wants to leave the Bundesliga champions to be reunited with the soon-to-be-confirmed United boss.
Van Gaal worked with Muller during his two-year tenure (2009 to 2011) in Bavaria, making the then 19-year-old a fixture in his starting XI and winning a league title in the Dutchman’s debut season in the process.
Bild claims Muller wants more first-team football after being increasingly used as a sub by Bayern coach Pep Guardiola and quote chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenige as saying: ‘If a player does not feel comfortable with Bayern Munich, he must come to my office.
