LAWMA Worker Killed By Agency’s Waste Disposal Truck (GRAPHIC PHOTO VIEWER DISCRETION)

A staff with the Lagos Waste Management Authority was yesterday killed in an accident involving one of the agency’s own trucks.
The departed, identified simply as Idowu, was crushed by the truck after it skidded off the road and fell on him.
The
unfortunate incident, which happened along the Egbeda/Idimu Road area
of the state, was said to have been caused by commercial buses parking
illegally to pick up passengers.
A
LAWMA official, Aminu Odukoya, who is a field supervisor, said Idowu
was one of the officials collecting refuse from residents whenever the
PSP truck stopped at refuse points. Odukoya said she was pained that
nobody was able to get the plate numbers of the buses that caused the accident.
